Homework:
Math homework packets will be sent home at the beginning of each unit and expected back on their given due date, which is also the day of the chapter test. These packets will be reflected in the Citizenship grades on the final report cards and are great practice to help students master the standards. These homework packets can also be found when students log into their Think Central account.
Projects will be assigned periodically and be given details about due dates when they are assigned.

Missing Assignments or Low Grades
If an assignment shows up as missing (0), students may complete the assignment and turn it in. The reasons this may show up in gradebook would be if they are absent when we do an assignment, if they forgot to put their name on the assignment, or if they did not finish and turn it in by the due date. These grades are not final! I encourage students to get these done and turn them in! It is however, their responsibility to do so.
If you and/or your child is not happy with an assignment grade they can raise their grade. Most of the work will be things that are in their binder, math book, or chromebook which they have frequent access to. If they redid the assignment or added to their work to complete it or follow the directions better they just need to inform me so that I can go back and look at the assignment again.
If you and/or your child is not happy with a test grade, they can also raise their grade. They will need to inform me when they have studied and are ready to retake the test. Then we will plan an appropriate time during the instructional day to retake the test.

Behavior
Students should be following the school and classroom rules by being excellent, engaged, and empowered. If a student is not following these rules he or she will receive a verbal warning. If it continues, they will have a mini conference with Mrs. Green to try to problem solve. If the behavior continues, parents will be contacted. If the student continues to misbehave, he or she will have to go to the office to have a conference with Mr. Cutler or Mrs. Dallin.
Citizenship
With our move and commitment to Performance Based Learning, the district has set up new College, Career, and Life Readiness (CCLR) standards. This will take the place of the former citizenship policy. Each student will be assessed by their teachers in five areas. The assessment scoring will be on a 0-4 scale. In the future, students will need an overall average score of 3 or higher to walk at graduation. The five areas that will be individually scored are: work ethic & resilience, communication, respect, responsibility, and dependability.
Work Ethic & Resilience: Set personal goals, apply best efforts to achieve them and persevere when faced with challenges and setbacks. Have a well-grounded sense of confidence, optimism, and self-efficacy.
Communication: Communicate effectively to share and understand information in a variety of contexts.
Respect: Acknowledge differences by looking for the good in everyone, including oneself, and show due regard for feelings, rights, cultures, and traditions.
Responsibility: Be trustworthy, ethical, reliable, and accountable for individual choices and the results produced.
Dependability: Be reliable and accountable.
